In Ingushetia, an activist's relative reports details of kidnapping

Kidnappers of Rustam Lyanov forced him to record three copies of a video message to his uncle Ibragim Lyanov, the head of the European Ingush Association, with a call to him not to criticize the authorities. According to Rustam Lyanov, he surrendered to the demands for fear for his younger brother kidnapped together with him. According to Timur Akiev, the head of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" office, the law enforcement bodies will solve the kidnapping case, "if there is a will."

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Ingushetia, unidentified man in masks kidnapped Rustam, a nephew of Ibragim Lyanov. The head of the European Ingush Association associated the incident with his activities.

According to Rustam Lyanov, the unidentified man in masks first forced his younger brother into their car and then he was also forced into the car.

"I was chained to a chair, handcuffed," Rustam Lyanov said.

He said that the kidnappers had an aim to record a video message for his uncle.

"They recorded three videos. Every time they came out and consulted someone. I believe they showed videos to someone. They were not satisfied with a video, and we recorded a new one. After the third time, they said they were not going to make it public anywhere," Rustam Lyanov said.

The police can identify the kidnappers, believes Timur Akiev, the head of the HRC "Memorial" office in Ingushetia. According to him, participants of the protest movement visited Rustam Lyanov and expressed their support for him.

It should be noted that a similar case occurred with Oleg Kozlovsky, a staff member of the human rights organization "Amnesty International" (AI). On October 15, it was reported that he was kidnapped and beaten in Magas. After the incident, he left Russia with his family.
