Ingush journalists report about blocking of their Instagram accounts

Instagram accounts of the independent edition "The Magas Times" and Ingush journalist Isabella Evloeva and a number of other accounts are not available. Journalists complain about threats and attempts to hack accounts which became more frequent after an October rally.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Ingushetia, rallies were held after on September 26, Ramzan Kadyrov and Yunus-Bek Evkurov signed the agreement on the border between Chechnya and Ingushetia.

Izabella Evloeva associates the blocking of her account with her activities on the Chechen-Ingush border issue. The journalist also suspects that her Telegram account was hacked.

According to her, she regularly receives messages with threats and insults from unidentified persons.

"In social networks, hundreds of accounts are trying to discredit me and other protesters. They accuse us of everything, for example, of relations with the US Department of State," Izabella Evloeva said.

Many accounts have been blocked in recent days, states Ibragim Kostoev, the editor of the edition "The Magas Times". He notes that there were attempts to put pressure on "The Magas Times" even before the rallies, for example, there were calls from the administration of the Ingush leader.

On December 12, some other oppositional Ingush accounts became not available.
