Ingush students describe beating at a Moscow dormitory

During searches conducted at a dormitory of a Moscow university, law enforcers beat Ingush students with their feet and with rubber hammers, victims reported. 13 complaints about actions of the law enforcers were written, reported on December 19 an advocate of victims.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 19, it became known that eight students filed complaints to the Prosecutor's Office about beatings during detention at the dormitory of the Russian State Geological Prospecting University (RSGPU) in Moscow.

Advocate Alikhan Khashiev reported that he collected complaints from 13 Ingush students who accused the law enforcers of abuse of power, unlawful deprivation of liberty, and infliction of bodily harm and requested the law enforcement bodies to bring them to justice, the "Echo of the Caucasus" reported on December 19.

According to the advocate, one of the complaints has already been sent to the law enforcement bodies.

One of the detained students told Alikhan Khashiev that on December 17, men in masks broke into a room at the dormitory, hit his brother, forced everyone down on the floor and beat them, including with feet and with rubber hammers, the "Echo of the Caucasus" noted.

Other students confirmed that the law enforcers beat young people before searches. "When students opened the door for them, the law enforcers shouted: 'Down to the floor' and hit Islam to his face. Then, they twisted and tied his arms behind his back and began to insult and beat Beslan and Movsar. They [the law enforcers] asked if there were any athletes among the students and when the young men confirmed there were athletes among them, in response, the law enforcers said: 'Well, that confirmed your good health!' and started beating them even more severe," said one of the students as quoted by the "Kavkaz.Realii" on December 19.
