NAC reports three killed militants in Nalchik

Three persons killed today by law enforcers during a special operation in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, were plotting a terror act, reported the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC). According to the NAC, nobody else suffered in a shootout.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the CTO legal regime has been introduced in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria at 4:05 a.m. Moscow time today. One of the people cordoned off in a private house in Nalchik was killed during a shootout with law enforcers.

Three persons were killed during a special operation, the NAC reported.

"We received the information about three armed gangsters, members of an extremist religious grouping, who were allegedly hiding in one of private houses in Kardanov Brothers Street," the NAC's press service reported.

According to the NAC, law enforcers offered the suspects to surrender, and after that the suspects opened fire. "Submachine guns and related ammunition were found at the place of the shootout. The killed militants have been identified ... There were no casualties among law enforces, and no civilians were injured," reports the press release posted on the NAC's website.

It should be noted that the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime announced today in Nalchik has been introduced in the city for the first time since June 2016.
