Kadyrov's help to fire victims reminds of Chechen-Dagestani border (+video)
The head of Chechnya has never allocated such large amounts of money from the Akhmat Kadyrov Fund to residents of Dagestan like to the fire victims in the Tsumada District, where residents are concerned about the demarcation of the Dagestani-Chechen border, Malik Butaev, a journalist, has noted. In his turn, Dmitry Lomilov, a lawyer, has pointed out that usually charitable foundations do not provide help in cash, especially in such large volumes.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the information about Ramzan Kadyrov's handing over 10 million roubles to the fire victims in the Dagestan village triggered an ambiguous reaction in social networks.
Kadyrov had helped Dagestanis earlier, but not in such volumes, Malik Butaev, a correspondent of the "Derbent" News Agency, has noted. "Probably, he had a desire to show in practice that Dagestan and Chechnya are fraternal republics ... Perhaps, this help will play its moral role in the discussion about the border," Mr Butaev has suggested.
The help rendered by the head of Chechnya to the fire victims has nothing to do with fixing the border, said Magomed Magomedov, an observer of the "Chernovik" (Draft) weekly. According to his version, Kadyrov regularly helps Dagestanis in difficult situations. Mr Magomedov has also noted that Kadyrov did not advertise his help.
The transfer of such a substantial cash amount is unusual, said Dmitry Lomilov, a lawyer, noting that when large cash sums appear in charitable organizations, it always raises questions.
