Azerbaijan reports shelling of two villages in conflict zone

Over 24 hours, positions of the Azerbaijani armed forces in the Karabakh conflict zone were shelled 22 times, including positions in border villages, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Azerbaijan reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 28, Azerbaijan reported 23 shelling attacks on its positions, and the day earlier about 24 shelling attacks. In its turn, the Ministry of Defence for Nagorno-Karabakh claimed 300 shelling attacks from the Azerbaijani side over the week from April 21 to April 27.

The ceasefire regime in the Karabakh conflict zone was violated 22 times over 24 hours, the press service of the Azerbaijani MoD reports today.

The fire came from the positions located in the territory of Armenia and "near the occupied villages." The positions of the Azerbaijani armed forces in the villages of Djafarli and Agbulag were shelled, the Azerbaijani MoD reports on its website.

The Ministries of Defence for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh have not yet posted on their official websites any comments regarding the statement voiced by the Azerbaijani MoD.
