Believers achieve termination of law enforcers' raids near "Tangim" Mosque in Makhachkala

In the capital of Dagestan, law enforcers organized a regular raid near the "Tangim" Mosque to check documents of the believers. Representatives of the mosque forced the law enforcement bodies to stop the raid and release two detainees.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 27, law enforcers conducted raids near the "Tangim" Mosque and checked the cars and their owners. The resumption of checks after the break did not affect the number of believers, Imam Nigmatulla Radjabov reported.

Believers of the "Tangim" Mosque in Makhachkala complained about the regular law enforcers' raids. After the believers appealed to the Prosecutor's Office on March 12, law enforcers held no raid, but on April 26, the security measures were resumed. On May 4, law enforcers detained two believers after a prayer.

The representatives of the "Tangim" Mosque agreed with the law enforcement bodies that the believers would not be subjected to pressure, reported Akhmed Chililov, the head of the public council of the "Tangim" Mosque.

He has also added that after meetings with officials from the Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), there were no serious violations of the believers' rights.

"A legal department has been created at the 'Tangim' Mosque, which any believer can address if his rights are violated. However, in recent weeks, there has not been a single appeal. So far, we are satisfied with the reached agreements," added Akhmed Chililov.
