Film about departure of Nogai youth to Syria impresses social network users

The author of "The Deceived" has raised an important problem; she should also tell about the fate of other residents of Dagestan who had joined militants in Syria, the YouTube and Facebook users who have watched the film believe.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Elmira Kozhaeva, the editor-in-chief of the Nogai-language newspaper "Voice of the Steppe-Shiol Tavysy", has made an investigation film "The Deceived" about three residents of the Dagestan village of Kumli, who had left for Syria to participate in the warfare against the government troops.

As of 7:10 p.m. Moscow time on November 4, the film gained 6099 views, 50 likes, two dislikes and two comments.

One of the YouTube commentators has called on the film author to tell about the fate of other Russians who had left for Syria. "If possible, tell about all those who left, not only from the village of Kumli," the user Unfufu Komarov has written.

The Facebook users who watched the film have appreciated the journalist's work and found the topic she raised very important. "I couldn't watch it without tears; although I'm not weak in my spirit. Elmira, you are a fearless woman; you've raised the most topical problem," the user Altynbiyke Akberdieva has expressed her opinion on the Facebook.

According to Ms Kozhaeva, the film was made for her personal money, but now it has been sent to the tender for a grant awarded by the head of Dagestan. "If I manage to win the grant, I want to film the second and third parts," Elmira Kozhaeva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on November 3.

According to various estimates, hundreds or even thousands of children from Dagestan, Chechnya, and other regions of the Caucasus may stay in Iraq and Syria. Their lives and health are in particular danger after the "Islamic State" (IS, a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") began to suffer large-scale defeats, reports the material "Caliphate Children: what awaits them after IS" posted at the "Caucasian Knot".
