In her video appeal, Iman Kurbanova, a resident of Moscow, expressed her repentance of critical posts about the leader of Chechnya and the republic's Mufti. According to the young woman, her parents explained to her that such statements were unacceptable.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 4, Ramzan Kadyrov demanded to "kill, imprison, and intimidate" authors of negative materials about the Chechen Republic and users of social networks who commented on those materials. Later, Ramzan Kadyrov tried to justify his statements by explaining that threats to beat and kill someone should not be taken literally.
On November 28, social network user Iman Kurbanova posted a video on Instagram, in which she repented of her critical posts addressed to the leader of Kadyrov and Salakh Mezhiev, Mufti of Chechnya. "By posting such statements, I humiliated the honour and dignity of the man and the leader of the region, which I shouldn't have done. My parents clearly explained that to me, and I also urge you not to post such statements," Iman Kurbanova said.
Earlier, the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" and the Moscow Helsinki Group (MHG) appealed to investigators with a request to check the legitimacy of the statement voiced by Ramzan Kadyrov.
