Residents of Dagestan demand to release Musa Aliev, who complains about torture
At their action held at the village administration, relatives and friends of Musa Aliev, a resident of the Dagestani village of Mutsalaul, arrested on suspicion of rape, who has stated that he was tortured, demanded to release him from custody.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Musa Aliev had stated that law enforcers first beat him up, trying to knock out his confession to raping a girl, and then began threatening his family. In November, the law enforcers, indicated by Aliev, were placed behind bars.
Aliev was sent to the Khasavyurt SIZO (pre-trial prison) on November 26 by a decision of the Supreme Court of Dagestan, the "Chernovik" weekly writes.
Relatives went out to a protest action after they learned about the "order from above" to imprison either two policemen or Musa Aliev, Musa's wife, Zulbika Shamsudinova, has reported.
