Ingush activist Oziev complains about severe conditions of convoying

A court in the Stavropol Territory has ruled to leave Timur Oziev, a rally participant in Magas, in custody until March 4. Oziev has complained that he and three other defendants spent one and a half days during convoying to the court without food and sleep.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 17, 2019, Timur Oziev was detained under the case of using non-hazardous violence against a state official. He faces up to five years in prison.

On March 26, residents of Ingushetia extended a protest action in a square in Magas without a sanction from the authorities, and that resulted in clashes with law enforcers on the other day. In early April, the Ingush police began to arrest oppositionists.

On December 17, Mukharyam Samatov, a judge of the Zheleznovodsk City Court, ruled to extend Oziev's arrest by three months.

Timur Oziev has complained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about unbearable conditions during convoying from the Nalchik SIZO (pre-trial prison) to Zheleznovodsk. According to his story, the transportation lasted for a day and a half; Oziev and three other defendants spent all this time without sleep and food. Oziev had a hypertensive crisis; he received medical care, but the pills did not help.
