Human rights defender urges an end to prosecution of Ingush activists

Charges of extremism brought against Ingush activists are of political nature, declares Magomed Mutsolgov, the head of the human rights organization "Mashr". He believes that the case against the Ingush activists was fabricated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that new charges under the article on creation of an extremist community were brought against Ingush activists Akhmed Barakhoev, Malsag Uzhakhov, Barakh Chemurziev, Ismail Nalgiev, Zarifa Sautieva, Bagaudin Khautiev, and Musa Malsagov.

In the evening on January 26, Magomed Mutsolgov declared on behalf of the "Mashr" that the criminal case against the Ingush activists on creation of an extremist community and participation in it was politically motivated.

The head of the "Mashr" has expressed his confidence that "a fabrication of a new criminal case is taking place."

"We demand to stop the unlawful prosecution of the participants of the people's protest action in Ingushetia," the human rights defender announces in his appeal.
