Prosecutor requests court to send Ingush activist Ibragim Dugiev to penal colony

At trial, Ibragim Dugiev, a participant of a rally in Magas, admitted his guilt in attacking a fighter of the National Guard of Russia. The defendant insists that he was not guided by any political motives, but stood up for women and elderly people. The Prosecutor's Office requested the court to sentence Ibragim Dugiev to a year of imprisonment.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ibragim Dugiev was detained on April 9, 2019. After he spent six months at a SIZO (pre-trial prison), the young man was transferred to house arrest by the decision of the Supreme Court (SC) of Kabardino-Balkaria. Ibragim Dugiev became the first participant of the March protests released from custody.

An advocate provided the judge with the characteristic letters for the defendant from his place of residence and from his job. According to the documents, Ibragim Dugiev is a religious, calm person. He took active part in the social and religious life of the village and joined the "Temam" and "Voshal" charitable organizations as a volunteer.

Ibragim Dugiev himself rejected the influence on his actions from the authority of the organizers of the illegal rally and the presence in his actions of political hostility towards then Ingush leader Yunus-Bek Evkurov.

Student Ibragim Dugiev learned about the rally in Magas from social networks. On March 27, 2019, he arrived at a square and saw fighters of the National Guard of Russia pushing women and elderly people out of the square. The young man decided to stand for the women and the elderly people, advocate Visit Tsoroev noted. According to the advocate, the video of the clashes shows how Ibragim Dugiev is kicking a fighter of the Russian Guard of Russia who is lying on the asphalt.

Ferdovs Dugieva, a mother of the activist, reported about a "tough" search in April 2019.

According to Ibragim Dugiev, he was twice placed to a punishment cell at the SIZO, and during house arrest, he was often subjected to police checks.
