Grozny Duma announces contest for vacancy of mayor
Members of the City Duma of Grozny announced a contest for the position of Mayor, which became vacant after Ibragim Zakriev had been transferred to the administration of the leader of Chechnya. Isa Khadjimuradov, the first deputy head of the city, was appointed the acting city mayor.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 10, the position of the Grozny mayor became vacant after Ramzan Kadyrov had appointed his nephew Ibragim Zakriev, who held the above post, the head of the administration of the leader and government of Chechnya.
Isa Khadjimuradov, appointed the acting mayor of Grozny, held the position of the first vice mayor of Grozny since 2019. Prior to that, he headed the Department of Foreign Relations of the Chechen government and was a member of the Chechen parliament, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
