Court sentences Ingush activist Dugiev to 14 months in colony
The court has sentenced Ibragim Dugiev to one year and two months of imprisonment for assaulting a policeman during a rally in Magas. On Tuesday, February 25, Mustafa Vysegurov, an activist, was set free from the SIZO (pre-trial prison).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Dugiev was detained on April 9, 2019. He confessed to attacking a "Rosgvardia" (Russian National Guard} serviceman, stating that he was not guided by any political motives, but stood up for women and elderly people.
His advocate has noted that Ibragim Dugiev did not complain about his health; he only pointed to the "excessive control" on the part of FSIN (Russian Federal Penitentiary Service) officers.
Earlier, Dugiev himself complained that during house arrest he was often inspected by the FSIN staff.
On December 27, 2019, Mustafa Vysegurov was sentenced to a year and five months of imprisonment. The court found him to be a participant in clashes with law enforcers during the rally in Magas. Vysegurov pled guilty, but stated that the court had ignored his repentance.
