Abkhazia announces complete closure of border with Georgia on March 14

In connection with the spread of the coronavirus infection, Valery Bganba, the acting head of Abkhazia, has issued a resolution to completely close the border of Abkhazia and Georgia along the Ingur River starting from March 14.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 27, in connection with the spread of the coronavirus infection in Georgia, the issuance of passes from Abkhazia to Georgia has been suspended until April 7. Abkhazia has also closed the borders for all foreigners and stateless persons, except for those who do not need visas to enter the country.

Till present, no cases of the coronavirus infection have been registered in Abkhazia.
