Chechen villager publicly repents for violating quarantine measures

The Chechen police are conducting a check on the case of Musa Khasanov, a resident of Nozhai-Yurt, who returned home while bypassing the checkpoint. Khasanov has publicly repented on air of the TV channel; relatives and fellow villagers have condemned his violation. The aim of the video is to intimidate other violators of the self-isolation regime, residents of the republic believe.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ramzan Kadyrov announced, from April 5 on, the closure of Chechnya' borders because of the threat of coronavirus spread.

According to the website "Stopcoronavirus.ru", as of April 7, Chechnya had 17 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection; one person died.

Doctors performed a test on Khasanov – he has no coronavirus. His relatives and fellow villagers have condemned his violation.

Denilbek Adaev, Imam of the village of Nozhai-Yurt, called Khasanov a criminal. "One person can infect an entire village. This is unacceptable," he said.

Shamil Musaev, a fellow villager, has equated Khasanov's offence to terrorism.

The TV report with the apology of the quarantine violator pursues the intimidation goal, the residents of Chechnya interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot", believe.

Earlier, social network users criticized Chechen law enforcers after the posted footage, in which they kicked a resident of Chechnya-quarantine violator.
