Social network users stand up for woman who raised money to treat her child in Chechnya

The woman from the Gudermes District, who was publicly criticized by officials for raising money for treating her child, had asked for help because of hopelessness, Instagram users have suggested.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 17, the head of the Gudermes District, speaking on air of the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company), rebuked the woman who had raised, through a social network, 190,000 roubles for her daughter's surgery, in parallel with receiving 30,000 roubles from the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation. However, in the opinion of Chechen and Moscow doctors, her daughter had no need in such surgery.

Authors of some comments on the Instagram have reproached the woman for deceiving social network users. "Because of such people, people are losing trust; and later they won't believe to those who really need help!" the user zwillingsmaus has written, in particular.

However, much more commentators stood up in her defence. "You cannot condemn those, who seek for help in fear of losing a child or a relative," the user patriot_k_a_a_ has written.

Chechen officials often reproach local residents for parasitism. Thus, on April 14, the head of the Urus-Martan District rebuked the mother of nine children, who had turned to the head of the republic for help.
