Azerbaijan claims 25 shelling attacks on the frontline
During the last 24 hours, the Azerbaijani positions deployed on the Armenian border and in the Karabakh conflict zone were shelled for 25 times, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning on May 1, Azerbaijan announced 25 shelling attacks on its positions undertaken during the past 24 hours.
"The units of the Armenian Armed Forces violated the ceasefire in various sections of the frontline for 23 times during last 24 hours," the Azerbaijani MoD has informed on its website today.
The shelling was carried out both from Armenia and from the territories controlled by the Nagorno-Karabakh authorities, says the message.
As of 11:00 a.m. Moscow time on May 2, the MoDs of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh had posted no comments to this statement on their websites.
After the escalation of the Karabakh conflict in April 2016, the parties to the conflict agreed on a ceasefire, but the confrontation did not stop. In 2019, Azerbaijan registered a period of almost complete ceasefire on the front, which lasted about a month, and Nagorno-Karabakh announced the lowest number of shelling attacks on its positions within 10 years.
