Quarantine conditions softened in Azerbaijan

Since May 4, Azerbaijan cancelled the permissive system for leaving home, except for the cities of Baku, Sumgait, Ganja, Lenkoran and the Apsheron District. Also, the country has reopened private stores, hairdressers and beauty salons.

Besides, the system of SMS permit for leaving home is cancelled. However, gathering in public places in groups of more than 10 persons is still prohibited, the TASS reports.

People are allowed to leave home in three cases: to go to hospital, store, pharmacy, bank, hairdressers or post office, as well as to the funeral of a close relative

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since March 24, Azerbaijan has been under quarantine: people over 65 are forbidden to go out, the rest are allowed to do it in special cases. Since April 5, the country is under the permissive movement system. On May 1, authorities announced an extension of quarantine until May 31, but on May 4, certain restrictions were lifted.
