Resident of Dagestan explains law enforcers why he was cruel with rare bird

The Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has spread footage with excuses of a man, who was detained after a resonant video about his ill-treatment of a Red Book eagle caught in a trap. Instagram users were outraged by the absence of detainee's apology.

The police has reported that they had identified the man from the resonant video, in which he beats up with a stick beating a steppe eagle listed in the Red Book. "The mass of appeals from shocked users and all concerned citizens of the republic were heard by the Dagestan police. The hero of the sensational video <...> was identified in a matter of hours and brought to the police station. He is a 49-year-old resident of the village of Ikra, the Kurakh District of the republic," says the statement posted on June 6 in the MIA's page on the Instagram.

The video that accompanies the post shows a man in a medical mask on his face explaining that his hens began disappearing, and in order to catch the predator, he set up a trap. The man notes that he was surprised when it was the eagle that got into the trap. "I had no intent to kill or hurt the eagle. Since I could not pull the bird [out of the trap], I slightly stunned it. Then I handed the pipe to my child so as not to hit the bird hard, and it (the bird, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") is not dead," says the man in the video.

Many social network commentators have criticized the man in the video. "I'd like to know what punishment the given citizen will receive, and not listen to his cheap excuses," the user ivangrozniy1985 wrote, having collected 35 "likes". "Where are the apologies and tearful pleas?" asked the user amirbagomedov, who collecting 43 "likes".
