Residents of Chechnya criticize appointment of Kadyrov's relative as Security Council Secretary
The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has appointed his relative, Khas-Magomed Kadyrov, earlier the Mayor of the city of Argun, to the post of the Secretary of the Security Council of the republic. Kadyrov continues strengthening his power by appointing his relatives and fellow villagers to leadership positions, despite their age and managerial skills, Instagram users and residents of Chechnya have noted.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 26, 2018, the 28-year-old Khas-Magomed Kadyrov, who earlier headed the Grozny City Branch of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), was appointed Mayor of Argun.
Residents of Chechnya have criticized the appointment of Khas-Magomed Kadyrov, reproaching Ramzan Kadyrov for strengthening his family-clannish cadre policy.
"Khas-Magomed Kadyrov's career is more than rapid, given his relatively young age," said Magomed, an activist.
"The power in the republic is in the hands of the Kadyrov clan; and people from beyond have almost no access to high-ranking posts," said Lechi, a local observer.
"The power system is looped on Kadyrov; all the rest are executors of his instructions," Marina, a resident of Grozny, has added.
State management in Chechnya, as in Russia as a whole, is built on a system of personal devotion, Dmitry Oreshkin, a political analyst, has stated.
In his turn, Kadyrov has earlier labelled the residents of Chechnya, who are dissatisfied with the appointments of his relatives as "he-goats" and "shaitans".
