Azerbaijan reports about shelling attacks on three villages on border with Armenia
The positions of the Azerbaijani troops were 35 times shelled over 24 hours, and villages located in the regions bordering on Armenia came under fire, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan reported.
In 2019, according to the calculations run by the Ministry of Defence of Nagorno-Karabakh, the number of shelling attacks was the lowest within 10 years.
"The Armenian armed forces used large-calibre machine guns and sniper rifles and violated the ceasefire 35 times over 24 hours," the MoD of Azerbaijan reported. The positions of the Azerbaijani troops in the village of Agdam in the Tovuz District and in the villages of Garaveliler and Zamanly in the Gadabay District were shelled.
The fire also came from the territories considered by Azerbaijan as its occupied territories.
Let us remind you that escalation of the conflict on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan took place on July 12. According to the official information, in the period from July 12 to July 27, six soldiers from the Armenian side were killed and 38 others were injured. The authorities of Azerbaijan reported about 13 killed and four wounded soldiers. No new casualties have been reported since July 27.
