Chechnya: punishment methods for drinking alcohol amaze social network users

Instagram users were surprised by law enforcers' threats to send detainees for drinking alcohol to work. The salary of 1000 roubles a day, promised by the police officer to detainees, is a dream for many residents of the republic, commentators assert.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 30, a video clip was posted on the Instagram, in which Rustam Aguev, the head of the Kurchaloi ROVD (District Interior Division), scolded seven men for drinking alcohol.

Users of the Instagram public "ChP/Chechnya" expressed their surprise at Aguev's instruction to his subordinate to get the detainees to work, stating that "if they earn at least 1000 roubles a day, this is a big deal."

"He [Aguev] says something like 'if they earn 1000 roubles a day, that's good.' He apparently doesn't know that this is a great salary for our republic," the user golos.protesta has criticized Aguev's education methods.

"That is, they relished from alcohol; now, they'll be sent to work worth 1000 roubles a day; what, was it possible?" the user prizrak_86 has noted ironically.
