Nagorno-Karabakh authorities admit loss of control over Shushi

The Defence Army has lost control over the city of Shushi, and the Azerbaijani troops are on the outskirts of Stepanakert, reports Vagram Pogosyan, the press secretary of the President of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 8, President Ilham Aliev announced that the Azerbaijani troops had established control over Shusha (the Armenian name is Shushi, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"), a key city in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Azerbaijani troops entered Shushi, but received no reinforcements and had to retreat, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia announced on the same day. Today, the Armenian MoD has reported about the ongoing battles near Shushi.

Today, Vagram Pogosyan, the press secretary of the President of Nagorno-Karabakh, has announced that the Defence Army has lost control over Shushi. "Today, unfortunately, we have to admit the failures that still haunt us. The city of Shushi is completely out of control <...> The enemy is on the outskirts of Stepanakert, and the existence of the capital is already in danger ... ," wrote Vagram Pogosyan on his Facebook page at 4:15 p.m. Moscow time on November 9 as translated from the Armenian language by the "Caucasian Knot".
