Djabiev's widow insists on resignation of South-Ossetian General Prosecutor
In Tskhinvali, about 50 people have stayed to spend the night in a square, where relatives and friends of Inal Djabiev are holding a round-the-clock protest action. The main demands of the protesters remain unchanged: the resignation of the General Prosecutor and the punishment of the persons guilty for the Inal Djabiev's death.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 4, the relatives of Inal Djabiev began an indefinite protest campaign. They demand from the General Prosecutor's Office to carry out an effective investigation into a case on the Inal Djabiev's death after his detention by law enforcers. On December 15, Anatoly Bibilov, President of South Ossetia, said that relatives of deceased Inal Djabiev disagreed with the results of a forensic examination, and that fact prevented the transfer of the criminal case to court. The leader of the republic also voiced his willingness to meet the relatives of Inal Djabiev at any time and pay for the repeated forensic examination.
A widow of Inal Djabiev refused to trust the results of the forensic examination, when the Prosecutor's Office voiced the cause of his death as heart failure against the background of the drug withdrawal. The prosecutors' version contradicts a story of Nikolai Tskhovrebov, who was detained together with Inal Djabiev and who complained about cruel torture.
"We are requesting the resignation of the General Prosecutor, because there will be no unbiased investigation with him. We are promised that all those responsible will be punished. Nevertheless, we see that two suspects were released a couple of days ago. We have repeatedly had a dialogue with the President and the General Prosecutor, but those meetings did not lead to any results," said Oksana Sotieva, the widow of Inal Djabiev.
