Azerbaijani soldier killed in Nagorno-Karabakh
One military serviceman was killed, another one was wounded in Nagorno-Karabakh in an attack of a detachment of six people; all the attackers were killed, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.
"On December 27, an illegal Armenian armed grouping or a detachment of six members of the Armenian Armed Forces that remained in the territory attacked units of the Azerbaijani Army in the vicinity of the village of Agdam (Akaku) in the Khojavend (the Armenian name is Martuni) District," says the MoD's website.
Meanwhile, earlier, the Armenian MoD declared the information about the fights in the Gadrut District of Azerbaijan to be a fake. The district is controlled by Azerbaijani troops; and the Armenian party is observing the ceasefire regime, the MoD asserts.
On December 11-12, in the Gadrut District, the first violation of the ceasefire since the end of the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh was recorded – armed clashes in the vicinity of the villages of Khtsaberd (Chailakkala) and Khin Takher (Kyokhne Taglar). The Ombudsperson of Nagorno-Karabakh said that the fate of 73 soldiers remained unknown. Later, the bodies of nine soldiers were found in the Armenian positions near these villages.
