Former presidents of South Ossetia urge to investigate circumstances of Djabiev's death
Leonid Tibilov and Ludvig Chibirov consider the political crisis in South Ossetia, connected with the case of Inal Djabiev as alarming. The statement was also signed by former MPs Stanislav Kochiev and Vyacheslav Gobozov, as well as Boris Chochiev, the first chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC). The public figures called for a fair investigation into the circumstances of the Inal Djabiev's death. Relatives of the deceased man continue their protest action in the pouring rain.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the round-the-clock protest action organized by Djabiev's relatives has been taking place in Tskhinvali since December 4. On January 12, advocate Diana Sanakoeva reported that an institution to hold the third forensic examination in the case on Inal Djabiev's death would not be determined until the end of the week.
Leonid Tibilov, Ludvig Chibirov, Stanislav Kochiev, Vyacheslav Gobozov, and Boris Chochiev are willing to act as mediators "in the process of resolving the situation."
"For four months, no parliamentary sessions have been held. A new government has not been formed. A protest action organized by the Inal Djabiev's relatives has been taking place for more than a month. The country's budget for 2021 has not been adopted. In fact, we are talking about the international image of our state," the public figures emphasized in their statement.
They note that "it is important to conduct unbiased investigation into the crime that led to the death of Inal Djabiev and to prevent similar tragedies in the future."
