Parents of Armenian conscripts protest after report on a soldier wounded in Karabakh

In Yerevan, a protest action took place in front of the government building. The protesters demand from the Armenian authorities to provide security guarantees for conscripts in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 13, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Nagorno-Karabakh reported that soldier Vardan Kirakosyan was wounded as a result of a shelling attack from the Azerbaijani side. However, Baku claims that the Azerbaijani side has not been involved in the incident.

Conscripts from Armenia continue to serve in Karabakh despite the conclusion of the ceasefire agreement. Parents of the Armenian conscripts fear that the soldiers may fall victim to sabotage or be captured. They also complain about the living conditions of the army service.

According to the protestors, contract soldiers should serve in the conflict zone, not conscripts. "Azerbaijan has repeatedly violated the ceasefire. Our children continue to get injured and die," said one of the protesters.
