Djumaev's friends respond to a campaign to discredit him on social media sites

Authors of a video collage, who tried to show Said-Mukhammad Djumaev as a cheeky person, distorted the facts by editing the video footage, claim friends of the Chechen native in their response video. Instagram users criticized attempts to discredit Said-Mukhammad Djumaev with fakes.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the protest action in support of oppositionist Alexei Navalny, held in Moscow on January 23, Said-Mukhammad Djumaev, a native of Chechnya, was detained in the Pskov Region and arrested until March 23. The man was charged with the use of violence against public officers. On February 3, Ramzan Kadyrov attacked Djumaev with harsh criticism, stating that he had harmed the people of Chechnya and acted unmanly by hiding from the law enforcers after the action.

On February 3, authors of the public account "ChP.Chechnya" on Instagram claimed that a campaign against Said-Mukhammad Djumaev had been launched in Chechen public accounts on the social media sites.

In particular, a video collage with the participation of Said-Mukhammad Djumaev was posted on the Instagram public account "About Chechnya and Beyond". The video was posted on February 2, the day when Ramzan Kadyrov sharply criticized Said-Mukhammad Djumaev.

From the video collage, the authors of the post draw three conclusions: "Firstly, he was singing obscene songs. Secondly, he was taking part in gatherings with alcoholic beverages. Thirdly, he was dancing and behaving cheekily <...> By all the Chechen concepts, each of the above actions of Said-Mukhammad Djumaev is not worth a man," note the authors in their post.

People calling themselves friends of Said-Mukhammad Djumaev disseminated the same video collage, but accompanied each included video piece with an audio commentary.

By 6:24 p.m. Moscow time on February 4, the post with the video prepared by the Said-Mukhammad Djumaev's friends gained 24,900 views, 1101 likes, and 125 comments.

"May Allah humiliate those who want to humiliate our brother Said-Mukhammad Djumaev," wrote user alik_116.

Instagram user volf_pack_95reg__ drew attention to the fact that the violations of the social norms of behaviour attributed to Said-Mukhammad Djumaev were not serious.
