Woman from Grozny arrested for witchcraft

In Grozny, law enforcers have detained Bilkis Gaisumova, a local resident, for engaging in occultism, the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company) has informed in its report posted at night on February 20 in its Instagram page.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since July 2019, Chechnya intensified persecution of residents for practising occultism. The above ChGTRK is regularly issuing reports in which local residents repent of their witchcraft practices.

"The woman was reading the cards, but it is difficult to call her a fortune-teller, since she failed to clearly explain her "working methods."

Along with Gaisumova, two of her clients were invited to a meeting with a theologian. "The meeting with him managed to bring the women to their senses," the reporter of the "Grozny" ChGTRK has noted.

Some of the commentators to the Instagram post were outraged by the public scolding of residents of Grozny. "Every other day they catch them in batches. Why should they screen all that?" the user zaurbek0606 has asked. "Why are you dishonouring people," the user cuba6666666 was outraged.

Some other commentators have criticized the residents who provide magical services. "They look like reasonable adults, but they are engaged in this nonsense. There should be a criminal article for them," the user bosikom62 believes.
