Theologian publicly scolds two Urus-Martan residents for witchcraft
Zuleikham Taisultanova and Zalpa Askhabova, residents of Urus-Martan, were detained for practicing occultism. After their talk with Adam Elzhurkaev, a theologian, they repented of their deeds: it follows from the video screened by the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since July 2019, the persecution of residents for providing occult services has intensified in Chechnya. The "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company) is regularly releasing stories in which local residents repent of practicing witchcraft after educational conversations with Adam Elzhurkaev, the chief specialist of the Centre for Islamic Medicine. The detention of the above two women in Urus-Martan for witchcraft was reported by the "Grozny" ChGTRK on its Instagram page at night of March 6.
It follows from the description of the plot that the women were detained after surveillance cameras recorded them performing some magical ritual. "They were detained. <...> They refuse to plead guilty, but they repent, although it looks paradoxically. After a long sermon by Adam Elzhurkaev, the women even began weeping," the reporter from the "Grozny" ChGTRK has noted; and the footage of the report showed the weeping Zuleikham Taisultanova.
