Karabakh rescuers suspend search for dead bodies
On March 15, the search for the bodies of those who perished during the autumn war in Nagorno-Karabakh was suspended due to unfavourable weather.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that immediately after the end of hostilities in Karabakh, the Karabakh Emergency Service began searching for the dead bodies. On March 8, rescuers interrupted their search due to heavy fog observed in the territory of Azerbaijan.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Nagorno-Karabakh has reported on the Facebook that the searches had been planned in a part of the territory of the Martuni District, which came under Azerbaijan's control, in the directions of Varanda (the Azerbaijani name is Fizuli) and Djrakan (Djabrail).
If there are no precipitations in the form of snow and good visibility, the work there will resume on March 16, rescuers said.
In total, since the start of search works in the battle zone in Karabakh, the bodies and remains of 1499 people have been found, of which 23, according to preliminary data, were civilians.
