Chechen prosecutors to check a video with a young woman shooting from a pistol

The Prosecutor's Office of Chechnya has announced launching a check after a video posted on the Internet with a young woman firing a pistol into the air in a public place. Instagram users suggested that the video was filmed at a wedding party.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that shooting during wedding parties is banned in Chechnya since 2012.

In most comments, Instagram users criticized the young woman from the video for firing a pistol into the air. At the same time, some users suggested that the pistol was not combat.

Let us remind you that in January 2020, Instagram users criticized a newly married couple from Dagestan for using Chechen music and a car in a wedding party video. Some social media users called for an apology from the newly-weds. Chechen Minister of Culture Khozh-Baudi Daaev and Ramzan Kadyrov’s aide Akhmed Dudaev joined in the condemnation of the newly married couple for public expression of feelings. According to Caucasus experts, there is no such strict ban among Dagestanis on the expression of feelings as in the neighbouring republic.
