Revision of complaint against investigators disappoints Gasanguseinovs' representatives

The Makhachkala court has again refused to satisfy the complaint lodged by Murtazali Gasanguseinov, who is seeking criminal prosecution of the ex-chief of the Shamil ROVD (District Interior Division). Gasanguseinov has stated that law enforcers are covering up his sons' murder.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 9, 2021, the Dagestani Supreme Court (SC) satisfied the Gasanguseinov's complaint against the court's refusal to initiate a criminal case on negligence and official forgery against the former head of the Shamil ROVD, who had treated the assassinated Gasanguseinov brothers as terrorists. The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has concluded that Russian authorities were responsible for the murder of Gasanguseinov brothers and for the failure to conduct an efficient investigation.

Murtazali Gasanguseinov has specified that Ibragim Aliev (the former ROVD head in question) had not resigned from the police but was transferred to a neighbouring district, where he continues his service in the rank of a major.

The father believes that the police report has become the main reason for declaring his sons to be militants. He had expressed outrage that his sons were "declared terrorists" and demanded to punish those responsible for his sons' murder.

"Why had my sons received one eight bullets, and the other – 11 bullets; and besides, after the murder, they were dressed into other clothes and executed again?" stated to the court.

According to Magomed Alamov, an advocate, several examinations have been appointed under the brothers' murder case; and the investigation continues.
