POWs’ parents demand a meeting with Pashinyan
Relatives of the prisoners of war (POWs) and soldiers missed in action during the autumn war in the Nagorno-Karabakh gathered in front of the building of the government and the residence of the President of Armenia. Participants of the protest action near the government building are seeking a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the presence of the media.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that protest actions began in Armenia after the trilateral declaration on the cessation of combat actions in Nagorno-Karabakh had been signed in November 2020. Some of the protest actions are being held by relatives of the soldiers missed in action.
On April 12, parents of prisoners of war and soldiers missed in action gathered in front of the building of the Armenian government. The protestors demanded a personal meeting with Nikol Pashinyan, the “News.Am” reports.
Arsen Gukasyan, a relative of one of the soldiers missed in action, called on relatives of all POWs and missing persons to come to the government building. “Let everyone who is able to come arrive to the government building right now. Let us get together in order to understand when the problem will be resolved and who will resolve it. We do not want to live in such an uncertain situation,” the “Aysor.Am” quoted Arsen Gukasyan as saying.
The protesters demanded a meeting with the Armenian Prime Minister in the presence of the media, but their request was denied. Some of the parents of POWs entered the government building, and it is not yet known whom they are meeting with, the “Sputnik Armenia” reported.
