Nagorno-Karabakh's Ombudsperson complains about pilgrims' non-admission to Dadivank
The Azerbaijani party has not allowed a group of pilgrims to visit the Dadivank Christian Monastery on their way to the ordination ceremony of ministers of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Ombudsperson of Nagorno-Karabakh has claimed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Dadivank Monastery of the Armenian Apostolic Church is now in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh that passed over under Azerbaijan's control. Believers expressed fears that they would no longer be able to visit the monastery. At the same time, the abbot and the brethren decided not to leave Dadivank.
On April 25, the Azerbaijani party did not let 25 Armenian pilgrims to visit the Christian Dadivank Monastery, Gegam Stepanyan, the Nagorno-Karabakh Ombudsperson, has stated. "On April 25, the Azerbaijani party prevented the entry of 25 Armenian pilgrims to Dadivank, where the ordination ceremony of the ministers of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church had been planned," the "News.am" has quoted Mr Stepanyan as saying today.
Meanwhile, the access of pilgrims to monasteries is stipulated in the armistice agreement of November 9, 2020, the Ombudsperson has noted, announcing his intention to appeal to international structures with a complaint against the Azerbaijani party's actions, the "Sputnik-Armenia" has informed today.
