Azeri Prosecutor General treats noise around "Terter case" as groundless

The "Terter case" was investigated back in 2017; judgments were made on the criminal offenses related thereto; and the public was informed of all its details, the Public Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that human rights defenders had declared those convicted under the "Terter case" to be political prisoners; this group includes 25 persons, says the report of the Union "For Freedom of Azerbaijani Political Prisoners" released in April. On April 13, the World Organization Against Torture announced cases of torture and deaths of servicemen and civilians detained in Azerbaijan within the "Terter case".

The noise around the "Terter case" is groundless, the "Turan" News Agency reported on May 10 citing Kyamran Aliev, the country's Public Prosecutor General.

This case was investigated back in 2017; the particular criminal offenses and relevant court judgements were passed, Kyamran Aliev has stated in his comment to reporters on numerous posts on this topic that appeared in various social networks.

"The public was informed in detail; and it is absurd to raise ungrounded noise," the "Meydan TV" quoted the Prosecutor General on its website on May 10.
