Four persons detained at protest action near Armenian Ministry for Public Health

After a scandal around the dead bodies of Armenian soldiers, which were stored in improper conditions, the opposition demanded the resignation of Anait Avanesyan, the acting Minister for Public Health. Participants of a protest action tried to throw sacks at the building of the Armenian Ministry for Public Health. The police detained four protestors.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on May 31, relatives of the soldiers, missing in action during the autumn war in Nagorno-Karabakh, held a protest action in Yerevan. The bodies were stored in refrigerators, but “now they have been delivered in place and are being hastily given out to their relatives,” says a participant of the protest action. The Ministry for Public Health of Armenia is checking the above information, the acting Minister for Public Health reported. The Minister apologized to the relatives of the dead soldiers.

Today, the protest action has been held by members of the ARF “Dashnaktsutyun” youth union, the “Aysor.Am” reports.

The protesters threw sacks at the building of the Ministry for Public Health. They were shouting that not participants in the war in Karabakh, but the acting Minister deserved those sacks.
