Lawyer doubts as to prospects of “Akhmat” FC’s litigation against Google

A complaint filed by the “Akhmat” FC (football club) against Google will not solve the problem of blocking of the FC’s YouTube channel, since there are no legal mechanisms for such a decision, lawyer Musa Pliev notes. Alternatively, an unofficial fan page can be promoted, SMM specialist Khamza Chernomorchenko suggests.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on December 10, 2020, the United States expanded Magnitsky List to include the “Akhmat” FC, the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation, and the “Akhmat” MMA Club. Because of the US sanctions, the FC’s access to foreign systems of football analytics is blocked, FC’s coach Andrei Talalaev complains.

Musa Pliev has noted the actual impracticability and futility of litigation. The lawyer has recalled that earlier, YouTube had already blocked Russian media and bloggers and all attempts to achieve a reverse decision had been unsuccessful.

Khamza Chernomorchenko, the editor-in-chief of the “Voice of Islam”, an SMM specialist, believes there is actually no alternative to YouTube.
