Migrants from Chechnya complain to Putin about problem with housing in Ingushetia

In their video appeal to the Russian President, migrants claim that the authorities of Ingushetia do not allocate housing to forced migrants from Chechnya and ignore complaints about the unresolved problem with housing.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in December 2019, forced migrants from Chechnya claimed that refusals to extend the status of migrants led to a disastrous situation because of housing problems.

In February 2018, about 200 forced migrants from Chechnya complained that when they had received small compensation, they lost their refugee status and their right to housing in Ingushetia.

“We are appealing to you with a request to finally solve the problem of housing for victims of the war in Chechnya. None of those in power in Ingushetia listen to us. We stood in line for housing, but we were thrown out of all the lists,” says one of women in the video appeal to the Russian President.

In their comments on Instagram, may users have expressed their sympathy for the forced migrants from Chechnya.

User milana97112 wrote that she had faced the same problem. “We have also been changing apartments for 25 years. We were thrown out of the list for housing. Once, we succeeded in restoring the status of forced migrants through the court. Then they stopped restoring our status. There is no hope,” user milana97112 complained.
