Investigators have detained Suren Ogandjanyan, the head of the Vorotan village community, who was accused of providing financial support to villagers provided they vote for “Aiastan” bloc.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 9, Suren Ogandjanyan, the head of the Vorotan village community in the Syunik Region, informed that his house had been searched.

According to investigators, Ogandjanyan organized, prior to the early parliamentary elections, a meeting with members of his community and offered them to apply for financial support, which would be approved in exchange for their voting for the “Aiastan” bloc.

A source from the Investigating Committee of Armenia told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on July 8 a case was initiated on bribe-taking and bribing voters. During a search conducted on July 9, weapons and ammunition were found in the house of the head of Vorotan. "The legality of acquiring and storing them is being defined," said the source.
