Part of activists detained in Tbilisi released

At night on July 14, nine activists detained during a protest in Tbilisi were released from the SIZO (pre-trial prison) under recognizance not to leave the city.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 13, at an action held near the office of the "Georgian Dream" Party in Tbilisi, law enforcers detained 12 people. The protesters demanded the resignation of Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili and the government, and an investigation into the death of Lekso Lashkarava, a cameraman of the "TV-Pirveli" Company.

Nine activists detained on July 13 in Tbilisi near the office of the "Georgian Dream" Party have been released under recognizance not to leave, the IA "News-Georgia" reports. The fate of the remaining three detainees has not been specified.

Let us remind you that Irakli Garibashvili, the Premier, said that he was not going to fulfil the protesters' demands to resign. He has criticized activists for an attempt to use the tragedy for political purposes. After that, six opposition politicians and journalists rushed into the session of the Georgian Parliament and demanded resignation of the government. There was a scuffle with the securities in the parliament building.
