Armenian Defence Minister resigns
Vagarshak Arutyunyan, who was appointed the Armenian Defence Minister after the end of the war in Nagorno-Karabakh, submitted a letter of resignation.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on November 20, 2020, the President of Armenia dismissed Defence Minister David Tonoyan, as well as the Minister for Emergencies and the Minister of Labour. Vagarshak Arutyunyan, the chief adviser to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, became the new Minister of Defence.
Acting Minister of Defence of Armenia Vagarshak Arutyunyan submitted a letter of resignation, the edition reports with reference to the press service for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia.
Vagarshak Arutyunyan has already held a farewell meeting at the Ministry, the “Sputnik Armenia” reports.
Arshak Karapetyan, the deputy chief of the General Headquarters of the Armenian Armed Forces, will be acting Minister of Defence, the “News.Am” reports with reference to its sources.
