Kadyrov’s expensive gift to Dagestani blogger provokes criticism on social media
After Ramzan Kadyrov met popular Dagestani blogger Khasbik, YouTube users have noted that the leader of Chechnya donates expensive cars at the expense of the republic’s budget. Ramzan Kadyrov organizes such meetings for the sake of the maximum number of mentions about himself, blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov points out.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in March, the leader of Chechnya announced that the Kadyrov Foundation presented to athletes Magomedrasul Khasbulaev, Magomed Bibulatov, and Arthur Beterbiev, members of the Chechen republic’s team, keys from Mercedes cars, each worth more than 80,000 US dollars.
On his Instagram page, YouTube blogger Khasbulla Magomedov, also known as Khasbik, reported that Ramzan Kadyrov donated him a Mercedes car.
Readers of the “Lenta” criticized the expensive gift. “He presents Mercedes cars due to donations from Moscow,” wrote one of the users. “A Mercedes car gift was made at the expense of other regions of Russia,” user Igor Nigarb noted.
In their comments on the “TV Caucasus” YouTube channel, users also expressed their indignation at the information that Ramzan Kadyrov donated an expensive car to Khasbik.
After his resounding victory in 2018 over Conor McGregor, fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov got a Mercedes car worth at least 80,000 US dollars from the Kadyrov Foundation. Social media users expressed their regrets about the athlete’s close communication with Ramzan Kadyrov and Vladimir Putin.
According to blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov, Ramzan Kadyrov decided to take advantage of the fact that Khasbik was a “hype figure on the Internet.’”
