Armenia sends letter to the UN Security Council
Azerbaijan's aggression is accompanied by territorial claims, threats of war and hate speech based on ethnicity, the Armenia's UN permanent representative has stated in a letter addressed to the UN Security Council.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 29, the USA called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to observe the ceasefire. A violation of its territorial integrity gives Yerevan reason to appeal to the UN Security Council and the OSCE (Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe), nine NGOs have stated. None of the parties in conflict is interested in the war, political analysts assert.
Mger Margaryan, Armenia's Permanent Representative to the UN, has sent a letter to Nicolas de Riviere, the Chairman of the UN Security Council, the website of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has reported. Mr Margaryan has stated about Azerbaijan's encroachments on Armenian territory, which led to human casualties.
Let us remind you that on July 28, local hostilities broke out on the border of the Gegarkunik Region of Armenia with Azerbaijan. It was reported that there were wounded servicemen on both sides; and three Armenian soldiers perished. The parties, mediated by Russia, agreed on a ceasefire, but the very next day they exchanged accusations of violating it. Today, Armenia again reported about shelling in Eraskh.
