Search of Moscow banker's relatives lost in Chechnya was fruitless

So far, the law enforcement bodies of Chechnya have failed to identify the whereabouts of the brothers of Abubakar Arsamakov, president of the Moscow Industrial Bank, and a man who accompanied them, who all disappeared two months ago.

This information was delivered on April 9 to the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" by a source in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Chechnya. The search of the missing people has been underway for the third month already, however, nothing is known about their location and fate.

"On February 8, brothers Yunus and Yusup Arsamakov and Khamzat Magomadov, who accompanied them, left the district centre of Itum-Kali in direction to Grozny, but never reached the destination. Next evening, their "Niva" car was found in the vicinity of the village of Barzoj of the Shatoi District. Nothing has been known about them since," the MIA source has explained.

The fact that Yunus and Yusup Arsamakov are brothers of the president of the Moscow Industrial Bank makes to assume that they could have been kidnapped with the aim to claim a ransom.
