Azerbaijan reports shootout near Shusha

At night, the positions of Azerbaijani militaries stationed near Shusha (the Armenian name is Shushi, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") were shelled from the positions located in the responsibility zone of Russian peacemakers, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Armenia and Azerbaijan are periodically exchanging accusations of shelling. Thus, on September 1, the Armenian party announced that its serviceman, Gegam Saakyan was mortally wounded by shelling. On the same day, Baku refuted the accusations of the murder of an Armenian soldier.

From 1:00 a.m. to 2:15 a.m. on September 3, the positions of Azerbaijani militaries located near the city of Shusha, were fired from positions located in the conflict zone, the Azerbaijani MoD has reported on its website today. "The command of Russian peacemakers and the joint Russian-Turkish monitoring centre were informed about the incident," the message of the MoD reports.
