Mansur Sadulaev's activeness drop fails to save his relatives from kidnapping

Mansur Sadulaev, the founder of the "Vayfond" Association that is in opposition to Kadyrov, has stated that during the last year he significantly reduced his activeness in social networks, but Chechen law enforcers have still kidnapped his maternal relatives.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 22, the blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, reported about the kidnapping of the cousins of Mansur Sadulaev, the founder of the human rights "Vayfond" Association.

Mansur Sadulaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the kidnappers of his relatives did not contact him anymore. "There's no new information at all. Since I started my social activities in 2015, I cut all contact with the Chechen Republic, with my relatives or acquaintances. Now I can't find out any additional information, because there is no one to ask. The only thing I know is that my maternal brothers have been kidnapped," Mr Sadulaev has noted.

He expressed his bewilderment with the fact that his relatives have been kidnapped right now. "For a whole year now I have not been active; I make no video messages. Either when I started, being one of the first bloggers to openly criticize the regime in Chechnya, or at the peak of my activeness they refrained from detaining my relatives," the blogger has stated.
