Bagaudin Gaitukiev detained in Ingushetia

In Ingushetia, law enforcers have detained Bagaudin Gaitukiev, a doctor and an activist.

The Ingush branch of the "Civil Initiative" Party has announced Gaitukiev's detention in its Instagram page grazhdan.in.ing.

"Bagaudin Gaitukiev, a well-known Ingush doctor was detained; according to his colleagues, in the morning he was taken from his house by some special agents," the March 3 report says.

Gaitukiev is suspected of complicity with militants, says the public _ingushetia_today_ on the Instagram.

His relative has confirmed Gaitukiev's detention. "Today (on March 3), early in the morning, people in masks took away my nephew, Bagaudin Gaitukiev, to some unknown place. Many people know him personally. He is a doctor! He has been doing charity work for many years! He has always been doing only good things!" the user Roza Ya wrote in her Facebook page.

Gaitukiev gained fame after in 2009 he performed a successful surgery on the then head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Evkurov, after a suicide bomber had attacked the motorcade, as a result of which his bodyguard was killed.
